Britt-Marie is a central character in My Grandmother Asked Me To Tell You She's Sorry. A neighboring resident of Elsa and Ulrika, she acts as one of the book's antagonists. Her spinoff novel, Britt-Marie Was Here, was published by Fredrik Backman in 2014, and was released as a film in 2019 starring Pernilla August.
